Terminated Merchants (TMF):
What does it mean if I want a merchant account?

If you've had a merchant account in the past and been terminated for whatever reason, you are placed on a list of terminated merchants. This is bad news.

Low-risk processors and banks will most likely NOT accept you as a merchant. They all check against the equivalent of a "blacklist" before processing your new merchant application. If you are on it, you will be declined.

High-risk merchant providers will generally accept TMF merchants (at higher rates of course). It'll probably be your only option for a merchant account, other than 3rd party processors like Paypal, 2Checkout.com or ClickBank.
